Jake...

Jake turned 12 on March 20th

What a cute little "Stinkin Deacon"

Lacrosse season...

One of his favorite things to do.  Face off.

This poor little lacrosse team is made up of beginners, who are mostly 5th graders.  They only have 4 in the 6th grade.  Jake is close to the biggest on the team and likes to think he's the "best" too.
He has the most experience for sure!  He is a total show off, but it's pretty awesome.
He knows the importance of team play and likes to pass if someone else can take a shot.
Now...if we could just get him to RUN!!!!!!!!

It's hard to put into words how special I think Jake is.  He's my middle.  Since Kindergarten he's been a soft spoken, fun, sweet kid.  Now...he's 12.  Still all of those things but with an attitude.  Allie commented a few weeks ago how Nate is turning into how Jake used to be and Jake is turning into how Nate used to be.  She is right.  It's a little sad to see his gentle nature leave him, but fun to see him grow and change.  I am grateful he is healthy and strong.
In February the 6th grade went to Clear Creek for a few days, he loved it!  I hated it.  I think I cried every single day that he was gone.  He is always so eager to talk to me in the evenings and just sit close to me after a long day.  I depend on his hugs and conversation at night.  I was kind of lost without it!  I am glad that he had a great time...but I don't know what I'll do this summer when he's gone for a whole week of scout camp!
